Programs we use

MS Word

Microsoft Word (often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft. The purpose of the MS Word is to allow the users to type and save documents.

 

Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make documents.

 

  • Spelling & grammar checker, word count (this also counts letters and lines)

  • Speech recognition

  • Inserts pictures in documents

  • Web pages, graphs, etc.

  • Tables

  • Displays synonyms of words and can read out the text

  • Prints in different way

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is the industry setting in graphics editing, such that the word "photoshop" has become a verb as in "to Photoshop an image," "photo shopping," and "photoshop contest," etc. It can edit and compose images in multiple layers and supports masks, alpha compositing and several color models. Photoshop has vast support for graphic file formats but also uses its own PSD and PSB file formats which support all the aforementioned features.

 

In addition to raster graphics, it has limited abilities to edit or render text, vector graphics (especially through clipping path), 3D graphics and video. Photoshop's featureset can be expanded by Photoshop plug-ins, programs developed and distributed independently of Photoshop that can run inside it and offer new or enhanced features

Sculptris

Sculptris is a virtual sculpting software program, with a primary focus on the concept of modeling clay.

 

Users can pull, push, pinch, and twist virtual clay. It is geared toward character sculpting and "organic" models

Prezi

Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software and storytelling tool for presenting ideas on a virtual canvas. The user places objects on a canvas and navigates between videos, images, texts and other presentation media. Frames allow grouping of presentation media together as a single presentation object. Paths are navigational sequences that connect presentation objects for the purposes of structuring a linear presentation

RPG Maker XP

RPG Maker is a program that allows users to create their own role-playing video games. Most versions include a tile set based map editor (tilesets are called chipsets in pre-XP versions), a simple scripting language for scripting events, and a battle editor. All versions include initial premade tilesets, characters, and events which can be used in creating new games. One feature of the PC Versions of RPG Maker programs is that a user can create new tilesets and characters, and add any new graphics the user wants.

Despite being geared towards creating role-playing video games, the engine also has the capability to create games of other genres, such as adventure games or graphic novels with minimal tweaking
